A new place for our viewing pleasure: Commerce Center Alabang

There is something magical about watching films on a big screen. At home, you can do anything you want just by pausing the movie. But with the larger-than-life moment, you get to see the movie for what it really is: a masterpiece.

In our area, there are 2 places you can go to watch a movie. I always preferred going to ATC than Festival because their cinemas are better. But with the Commerce Center cinemas opening, I think I have found a new favorite place.

Commerce Center has been open for months but they just opened their cinemas last Monday, November 17. When they announced that they were holding advanced screening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, my siblings and I immediately wanted to go watch it.

The only site we got our information from was from their Facebook page. The post had the cinemas and the movies they were showing. No information on ticket prices and schedule. The did post the number you can call for infomation (it was hard to get through the line, better post it instead). The advande screening was at 9:45 for 250 pesos. There are only 4 cinemas with the maximum capacity being 123 seats. When you go inside, it feels more like a theme park attraction than a mocie house (say, Enchanted Kingdom's Rialto). They really had comfortable seats, angled the right way, and had ample leg room. The arm rests could be put up, you know, for people who want to cuddle. The height of the screen is just right, no need to strain yor neck (we sat at the 4th row from the screen). The staff are really friendly, from the phone call to the screening. They only had Taters as its' concession stand, and you can only bring food from there inside the cinema. It's such a small store, I don't know how they'll gare if the crowd get's bigger.

There were a few drawbacks we had in our experience. Since the theaters were new, it really got cold. I was already wearing a sweater but I was still shivering, literally. They also had a rather small comfort room that will be used by 100+ people. Also, since we went an hour and a half early, we really didn't have a place to stay. They didn't have seats in the lobby. The mall has no coffee shop. We already had dinner so restaurants were our of the picture. We had to go to McDonald's a couple of blocks away.

All in all, we had a good experience. Their regular price is 230 pesos, the same for Cinema 1 of ATC. I cannot wait for the next movie I'll watch there!
