Uncle Cheffy and happy tummies

(Update: Molito branch is now closed)

I was supposed to make a post on a gastropub, but all I took there were photos of alcohol we had. Haha! Anyway, I chose to write about Uncle Cheffy's instead because it was my 2nd time to eat there.

In Alabang, there are two branches: the first one is in Molito Complex and the second one at the 3rd floor of Festival Supermall. Might be a good restaurant since it has two branches not more then 10 kilometers apart (that's just an estimation).

The first time we ate there, the restaurant just opened. We had a good experience there but it took us a long time to go back and eat here. For my sister's birthday, we decided to go back there because she wanted ribs. We loved their ribs so we ordered it again.

They have group promos now. We ordered the 888 promo. It included a pitcher of freshly made iced oolong tea, 4 flavors of panizza (you can choose the flavors), and spaghetti alejandro. Of course, that meal costs 888 pesos. We also ordered the Memphis Barbeque U.S. Beef Back Ribs which costs around 695 for 1 kilo.

freshly made iced oolong tea
I really liked this iced tea because it tasted fresh. It was a tad too sweet but since the ice would eventually melt and incoporate with the drink, the sweetness is lessened.

spaghetti alejandro: spanish-inspired pasta with tomato sauce, smoked chorizo, pimientos and edam cheese
It tastes more like a sweeter version of spaghetti with chorizos. I didn't really notice the pimientos. But I also liked this. Alone, it would cost 130 for a junior size and 185 for medium size.

Memphis Barbeque U.S. Beef Back Ribs
It is served with marble potatos, iceberg lettuce, salsa, and 2 sauces (I think some sort of pesto sauce and a barbeque sauce). The serving of the sauces were a little small for the size of the dish so you would run out fast. We never tried asking for a refill, but maybe you can get one. I was slightly dismayed by the texture of the dish last night. The taste was still the same but it was more rubbery than usual. Maybe it was because it was overcooked.

(from top left to bottom right: seafood lovers, Uncle Cheffy favorites, east meets west, and cheese cheese cheese)
A solo flavor medium size panizza would cost around 200-250 pesos while a family size one would cost around 380-495 depending on the flavor. The pizza was also overcooked so it was drier than the first time we tasted it. As my mom said, it ended up tasting the same even though we chose 4 different flavors. That's because they all have the same base (3 kinds of cheeses) but the others just added toppings. The seafood lovers had salmon, shrimp, clams, and squid with 3 cheeses and onion. The Uncle Cheffy favorites had oven dried tomatoes, mushroom, garlic, anchovies (which I didn't taste), chili flakes, basil, and 3 cheeses. East meets West had parmahan, salami, kesong puti, salted eggs, tomatoes, mango, and 3 cheees. Cheese cheese cheese had mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, gruyere, blue cheese, herbs, and virgin olive oil. Such a disappointment. They have more flavors to choose from. The panizza is served with salsa, alfalfa sprouts and iceberg lettuce.

Although my second trip was a bit of a letdown, I would still go back for more. They have more dishes I could try. I give Uncle Cheffy's a 3.5 out of 5. You can do better Uncle Cheffy!
